I’ve been on vacation for over a week now and I’m ready to be home and implement some new things I’ve observed here (here = San Diego). It’s amazing to me how much I got from talking to a very smart 5-year-old girl. I got the perspective I needed and, even, some motivation to get my arse moving and do things. I want to be proactive! I’m not done with my list of things I learned and things I want to try/do; I’ll share it here when it’s finished.

Yes, we went to opening night with friends. The line and crowd weren’t as bad as we thought. We even managed to get great seats by getting to the theater an hour later. Anyway, it’s a great movie. It’s an excellent story with great acting by everybody. It’s inevitable to think throughout the movie that it’s Heath Ledger’s last and how talented he was. Because of this, I know a lot of people will focus on Heath Ledger but Christian Bale is an awesome actor as well. He’s a great Batman. Go find out by yourself. Go see The Dark Knight.

We’ve been watching the new incarnation of  Battlestar Galactica (from SciFi) with friends and it’s a fracking awesome series!!! I would recommend it to anybody (nudge nudge Nadyis) that enjoys TV. That’s it for now… people are waiting for me to start the next episode.

This summer has been awesome! The hubster and I decided that we were going to have fun no matter what. We’ve been to the ball park to see the Red Wings, we went to the movies, we went to the lake a few times (planning to go every week (I have a nice tan already)) and, the best of the best, we’ve been hanging out with friends! 

School is going great. I’m doing just fine. When this summer is over, I should have 9 credits out of the way. WOOHOO! I got A’s on my first 2 classes (I just looked!)! I’m so happy!!!!

I’ve been knitting too! It’s a pseudo surprise so I’m not posting pictures ’till Ed gets his scarf. It’s pseudo because he bought the yarn and he specifically asked me for a scarf. But he doesn’t know what the pattern is, though.

To force myself to take pictures, I took the old digital camera and put it in my backpack. So, no excuses. I want to take some pictures of campus and the summer activities.

I don’t know what it is… I always have the intention to write and blog as much as possible, but for some reason I always end up procrastinating. Well, here I am… trying to give this blogging thing another go.

First of all, I have news. I’m going back to school. Yes, as in going for another Masters degree. This time it’s going to be on School Counseling. That’s right, the hubster had lots to do with this decision. After much talking, thinking, meditating, and analyzing we thought it was a good idea for me to go back to school. Soooo, I start this coming Monday. I know, craaaazyyyy! Because of this, I’ll be leaving my current job. I need something more flexible and less hours as well. I am very excited of all the new future possibilities. 

Also, I just came back from Puerto Rico. I went to visit my family for a week and I had a great relaxing trip. My mom is doing great and will begin her treatment by the end of the month. I miss my family and the island so much. It’s interesting how much we take things for granted…

The hubster said to me the other day (after one of my long ramblings about my life) that I was trying to find myself. I guess he’s right. I think I have a sense of my personality and the person I want to be. I don’t know where exactly I am right now, though. Therefore, I am not sure where I am going. I get anxious when I don’t have a plan or at least have an idea. Maybe it’s a control issue… maybe it’s phobia of failing…. maybe I’m guilty of seeing the success of other people and wanting it… maybe I’m overseeing something… maybe it’s not my time… maybe… maybe… maybe. I’m very conflicted. I’m sure this is making it worse, you know. Having this mess of thoughts inside my head all the time is really sucking up my happiness and peace. What to do? What to do?

I usually try not to be negative… still, I’m aware that bad and unexpected things happen to good people. I always sympathize with people and families that go through some weird sickness case completely out of the blue… because it is so unexpected. I always think of what I would do in a situation like that… never really wanting to believe that it could happen to me. My mom already went through a delicate, long surgery with great results. Doctors aren’t perfect and human bodies can do really unexplainable things. She needs to go through the same surgery again. I’m pretty devastated by this. Of course, there’s nothing left to do other than to be together, keep looking forward, pray, and hope for the best.

Ha! I’m clever… today’s coffee place is? Any guesses? It is SPOT! This is so much bigger than Spin… but still hip and cozy. They have the random couch assortment that we love and great coffee, as well.

No, the hubster is not blue… it’s just the light from his laptop. 

Today I’m all about the cross stitch. I’m trying to finish this kit. It’s really easy and will be placed close to the kitties’ food and water plates. I’ve been having no luck with knitting lately, so it’s kind of cool that I’m going to actually finish something. I’ll post a picture when I finish and frame it.

Welcome to our second house… SPIN Caffe. We love this place and some of the employees already know us because we come here almost every week at least once. The hubster likes to come here because it’s a welcomed change of environment. You know… from school to nice, hip, great coffee place.

I love it because I get to drink great coffee and think about my life (while trying not to interrupt the hubster every 5 seconds). [By the way, those pictures were taken with my MacBook iSight. I think it's a pretty good camera!]

Last week I met with one of the hubster’s coworkers (the art teacher). She is awesome. She knows how to do everything… sewing, painting, knitting, spinning… you name it. So, she was gracious enough to have me and my new friend-coworker R for a night of spinning. No… is not stationary bike related. It is wool fiber related. As in making yarn. It was so nice to be in the same room with people that have the same interests and really appreciate sharing their talents. Hopefully next week, I’ll meet with R on our day off to knit and chitchat.

I’m at a crossroads here. I sort of want a different job. Although I like what I’m doing now and appreciate all the company does for its employees (incentive-wise), I feel I could be doing better somewhere else. I think I have a lot to offer… not sure what I should be doing though. I know I want to do something with a positive impact, I want to help people (no, I don’t want to be a doctor)… it is not just about being in a better place economically… it is about feeling like I have a purpose and translate who I am to a cause of some sort. I know I am still young and have time… I’ve just been feeling like I need to know now and stressing about it a bit. I have ideas of things I would like to do, but all of those involve me leaving my present job and lose some of the financial security. I don’t think I have the strength right now to go through financial hardship, but I’m thinking about it. Let’s see where this path takes me.
